Welcome to the Cobra Wrestling Academy Online!  My name is Keith Maute, I am the Executive Director of the Cobra Wrestling Academy.
I have been involved with wrestling for most of my life, even wrestling collegiately
for the Niagara County Communtuy College Trailblazers.

My coaching career started as an assistant coach at Lancaster High School where the team was league champions for 8 straight years (1996-2003).  This include 5 straight undefeated seasons.  The streak was was broken in 2001 to State Champion Canandaigua Adacemy (Rochester area) as we ended up 2nd in NYS, yet we were undefeated in league matches for those 8 years.

In 2000 I co-founded Club Chin Cup, which is an offseason wrestling club where wrestlers
can learn Greco-Roman and Freestyle wrestling, which are the types of wrestling which are performed at the international level.

In 2003 I took over as head coach of East Aurora High School.  I took an 0-12 league bottom feeder and turned them into sectional champions 3 years later.  I was very
excited to start the Cobra Wrestling Academy in 2008, so I can share my love
of wrestling with the Western New York community.  I have coached 12 sectional champions and 11 New York State place finishers.

I have coached wrestlers who have went on to wrestle at such prestegious NJCAA, NAIA and NCAA wrestling programs as: Bucknell University, Brockport State College,
Gannon University, John Carroll University, Niagara County Community College,
Northwestern College, SUNY Buffalo & SUNY Binghamton.
